There are many characters which are worthy of our imitation such as kindness and generosity. They can make people be a good person or an ethical citizen. However, I think that confidence can make people succeed.
Confidence is a belief in your own ability to do things and be successful, and I think Helen Keller is a woman who had confidence and it made her succeed. She was not blind and deaf until she contracted an illness which could possibly have been scarlet fever or meningitis. The illness finally left her as an invalid. Although she couldn’t see or hear anymore, she didn’t give up. With confidence, she was able to speak like common peole, and enter into Harvard University. I like her so much, and I hope I can imitate her spirit all the time.
Lena Maria wasn’t born with hands, and her left leg was twice as long as her right leg. It is a horrible thing for common people. Instead of feeling bad about herself, she tried hard to learn everything. Lena Maria has been champion of a swimming competition, and she also was able to drive her car with her legs. With confidence, she has never been dejected by her appearance, so I think “confidence” can really make people succeed though you are handicapped physically challenged.
J. K. Rowling is my favourite writer. Because of confidence, she was able to become a successful writer. In fact, she was very poor when she was divorced, and nobody wanted to publish her book. She never gave up. She had more and more confidence to do the thing, so she tried many times to ask publishing houses to her book print. Finally, they published her book, Harry Potter, and it got a wide response. It is an encouraging thing for J. K. Rowling to write many famous books.
A lot of people can be successful because of their confidence. Even though there is some difficult position, I still believe that confidence will defeat all things, and someone who has confidence can be our teacher.
